Although there are at least a thousand restaurants serving fairly decent Khao Soi in Chiang Mai, this restaurant is on the list of those places that are considered "the best Khao Soi Restaurant" in Chiang Mai. Many Chiang Mai residents stop by here frequently to have a bowl (or two) of either their Khao Soi or their (standard Thai) noodle soup. A tip for first time Khao Soi eaters - traditionally all Thai noodles were served in small portions, so that you can eat them at their perfect moment (well cooked but not soggy), there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating multiple portions of noodles in small bowls. If you want a larger portion in one bowl you should ask for a "Piset" (special) bowl and you will get a larger portion for a small additional price.

Update after renovation March 2018. The Khao soi is now 40 Baht, still very cheap. The kitchen is bigger. They have fans mounted on the pillars. There's free water and ice (in insulated cooler box). I kept wandering past this place and it's almost always full with a mix of locals and foreigners. The opening hours are limited though so I decided to try it out for breakfast. I got there about 10:15. Most tables were occupied but I ordered at the counter and found a table with no problems. There is no wifi. There is parking. The Khao Soi was delivered to my table in a couple of minutes with the usual side dish of onions, lime etc. The KS was very good, one of the best in Chiang Mai. The medium KS was only 35 Baht. Excellent value for money. Sometimes they run out of KS by about 1pm. It's shaded but there are ceiling fans if it gets too hot. Recommended. I'll be back!

Amazing dish. They specialise in Khao Soi and spicy soup. So you will only find 2 different dishes which of you can choose between 3 different meats. You can really taste and feel the authenticity, they don't tone down the food for tourists, they serve it as if you were a Thai.

One of the best Khao Soi in the city that looks like a permanent makeshift food stall. The beef Khao Soi packed a strong punch and everything from the firm noodles to curry sauce came together extremely well. I like to tune up the spicy level of my Khao Soi. This is one of the places where you want to leave nothing behind including everything last bit of the soup. Finally, like others have said, it's on the small side so try order two!

I’ve had better Khao soi at other places I only went here just to confirm this. The chicken comes already off the bone I prefer a chicken leg in my broth. Seems like more of a popular place with tourists and the portion is quite small for 40 baht. #BeatTheGrind
