The name of this place is very accurate, they specialise in chicken and rice. The only main question is do you want skin with it or not. Other than that the old guy who works there will ask you if you want large or small. I ordered the large one for 40 baht which comes with a bowl of soup. There are two levels of seating and condiments such as garlic and dipping sauce are self serve. Free water is also available here and there's a toilet if you need it.

Family run chicken rice restaurant. Serving tasty chicken in steamed and fried styles, with rice, soup and drinks at humble prices.

I've been there more than 10 times. This is one of my go to place for lunch, especially if I want to avoid spicy food. The rice tastes amazing and for me that's what makes all the difference. The rice has a delicate floral flavour. In the chicken and rice game all the credit is usually given to the chicken, and it seems that most places don't really care providing anything more than the rice cooked by the rice cooker. The chicken and the chicken dipping sauce taste good too. Their fried chicken is delicious. I love to mix the boiled and the fried chicken to keep my lunch healthy and still enjoy those crunchy bites. The auntie at the counter is nice and will easily get you to smile. She'll remember you if you come multiple times and she'll make sure that the staff don't forget you because you cannot place the order as thai people do, writing you order down on a piece of paper. The place is well managed in spite of the customers lining up at lunch (I know they also supply hotels and other private customers, so they are more than busy). If you want to avoid the crowds, go there early (before 12:15), or late (after 1:30). The place looks like a proper restaurant, and for 35 or 45 baths (depending of the size of your plate) you rarely get such a nice setting. There might be no better value for money for chicken and rice in Chiang Mai!

Great khao man gai. Very good place, friendly staff. Totally recommended!

Order first at the front, then take a seat. Essentially you've got a choice between deep fried and boiled chicken, my favourite was the boiled, however you MUST have it with the sauce mixed into your rice, and the sauce you must fetch / create yourself. Remembering that the red sticky sauce is for the fried chicken, you can basically put all other sauces together in one delicious mixture.

Decent khao man gai but not great. Wish chicken was more tender. The sauce is the bomb so make sure you get some. Queues during noon time.
